Drawing is this Weekend!

We'll be wrapping up our fundraising and hold the benefit drawing this weekend. We'll hold it at the Giro di San Francisco on Monday 9/3.

Come on out to this great race, and win your prizes! What prizes we do have in-hand will be handed over to the winners, so if you are present that day, instant gratification will be yours.

Winners need not be present, we will contact each winner with news of their prize.

As of this posting there are plenty of tickets left. A huge thanks goes out to all those kind donors who have been willing to support Andy through this difficult time.

Also, the first 50 donors at the race will recieve a limited-edition water bottle created specifically for this event (thanks to Specialized for designing and printing the bottles!).

Featured Prize: Skellenger Wood Bowl!

Salvaged from a Michigan landfill, this Black Cherry bowl was handcrafted especially for the benefit of Andy Jacques Maynes in hopes that it will benefit both the lucky bidder and more importantly Andy's speedy recovery. The bowl has been turned on the lathe to the rough shape, dried for one year, turned again to the final shape and then carved with hand tools on the outside to create the texture. The black coloration on the outside of the bowl is created by soaking nails in vinegar.... yes, nails in vinegar. The resulting solution reacts chemically with the tannin in the cherry wood creating the permanent, deep ebony color. The final finish on the bowl is food safe, all natural California walnut oil. The outside of the bowl has a blend of walnut oil, beeswax, and carnauba wax which was buffed to a high polish. The winner will also recieve a gift card with the bowl signed by the artist.
